101 out of the box ideas for using your Peri Bottle

The humble Peri Bottle, a petite 8oz squeeze-joy and in this Mama’s opinion a lifesaving essential in those immediate postpartum hours and days. It recently dawned on me that there were more ways to get more bang for your buck so to speak beyond the postpartum period and so, because I’m all about extra value, let me share my wisdom with you young Padawan. Starting with it’s intended use for any one out there going "Peri Bottle?! Nando’s are doing what now?!"

A Peri Bottle is designed for the perineum

It sports a screw top lid with a pop on and off cap. It holds 8oz of liquid. Many women experience swelling, tearing and stitches during labour and needless to say - it’s pretty darn painful. That first wee stings like a bee, but not with a Peri Bottle! Fill ‘er up with warm water and direct the flow of water onto your tender bits while going to the toilet. It will dilute the flow of urine and assist in keeping the area clean.

Sex!

So this is by no means any kind of pressure or push to get busy straight away - we all get there in our own time when it feels right for us.  When you do - don’t forget about ol’ Peri, especially if you’re prone to UTI’s. Remember she’s great at diluting and gently cleaning. It’s also quieter than having a shower, which is a no go in our house once the tiny dictator is down. Darn noisy pipes!

Poonami’s.

Poosplosion. Blow out. Whatever you call it, we all know it ain’t fun. Especially if you are out and about. Keep Miss Peri in your Nappy/Travel Bag and you got yourself a handy portable bidday right there. Mama: 1 Poonami: 0

3a) Toilet training. As above.

Long Haul Travel.

This light bulb went off on a recent trip to Canada. Now here’s a bit of TMI about me: I’m a lady who loves a fresh pair of undies and is my best self with a shower morning and night. So naturally the thought of a 15hr flight from MEL to LAX is not my jam. I packed my Peri Bottle in my carry on toiletries bag and it was everything I wanted it to be and more.

First Aid.

Peri Bottles are small and easy to hold, don’t forget her when you need to wash a grazed knee or flush out an eye with water - has anyone ever successfully manoeuvred a screaming toddler over a pokey sink?! Speak up whoever you are, share with us your secrets!

And there we have it. I told you - Peri Bottles are awesome
